The Government of Nicaragua celebrated in the city of Managua the fourth anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations with China, in an official event that also included the welcome of the new Chinese ambassador, Qu Yuhui, according to the Argentine News Agency (NA).
The reception took place on Wednesday evening and was attended by national authorities, diplomatic representatives, and officials from the Nicaraguan government, in a context of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Political support and projection of bilateral cooperation
During the event, the presidential advisor for the Promotion of Investments, Trade, and International Cooperation, Laureano Ortega Murillo, highlighted the strategic importance of the relationship with China and emphasized the progress achieved since the restoration of diplomatic ties, which occurred in December 2021.
The authorities stressed that the bilateral relationship has been strengthened in key areas such as investments, trade, infrastructure, and international cooperation, and reaffirmed their willingness to continue deepening political and economic ties with Beijing.
The official event also served to formally welcome Ambassador Qu Yuhui, who recently assumed his diplomatic mission in Nicaragua as part of an agenda aimed at expanding cooperation and exchange between the two countries.
